How to use the free online notepad

What local autosave means
Local autosave keeps the text inside storage associated with the current browser and device. It is convenient for temporary work because the note is not published as a public webpage. It is not the same as a cloud backup: another computer will not automatically receive the note, private-browsing windows may use separate storage, and clearing site data can remove it.
Useful everyday examples
During a meeting, note decisions under three headings: decision, owner and due date. When drafting an email, write the main request first and move background details below it. For study notes, turn each heading into a question and place the answer underneath. Writers can remove unwanted formatting by pasting plain text here before moving the cleaned copy into another editor.
Privacy and sensible limits
A locally saved note may still be visible to another person who can use the same device and browser profile. Do not store passwords, payment-card details, identity documents, private medical information or confidential customer records. Use an approved secure system for sensitive information.
If a note appears to be missing
- Check that you opened the same browser and normal browser profile.
- Confirm that you are not in a private or incognito window.
- Look in your Downloads folder for a TXT backup.
- Check whether browser history or site storage was recently cleared.
